As a GP contractor, the majority of my income comes from NHS contract work including points from the Quality & Outcomes Framework. Additional practice-level remuneration comes from some non-NHS patient services (including some medical examinations, reports, etc.), receipts for undergraduate and postgraduate training, and research participation including money from the NHS Primary Care Research Consortium (to seed-fund the Keele Academic General Practice), and Health Education England and the West Midlands Academic Health Sciences Network, to fund project evaluations.
My employer at Keele University has received grant income relating to projects I undertake, from the National Institute for Health research, the NIHR School for Primary Care Research, the RCGP Scientific Foundation Board.
