I was part of a team of medical students who secured a £10,000 grant from the Academy of Medical Sciences to use to promote academic medicine to medical students at Queen's University Belfast through activities such as conferences/students selected components/mentorship schemes. I received expenses from Queen's University Belfast to present work from this grant at an international conference. I am currently involved with PharmAware, an organisation which seeks to educate health professionals about the effects of interaction with the pharmaceutical industry and its representatives. I have in the past been involved with MedSin (now known as Students for Global Health), a national student network which seeks to educate medical students about global health, advocate on behalf of local and global communities and act on topical public health issues.
