I have done research into deaths of healthcare workers from Covid-19, and published papers on this. This was unfunded and done in my own time. I am the author of a book to be published by Routledge in Spring 2023, 'Creating Community Health: Interventions for Sustainable Healthcare'
I am actively involved in community development and am a trustee of Ross Community Development Trust.

I work one session a week as Mental Health GP lead for Herefordshire CCG, which is remunerated at GP sessional rates. I am a partner in an NHS GP practice. We provide senior clinical cover for Ross-on-Wye Community Hospital, which provides part of the surgery income, via Wye Valley NHS Trust. The practice (as do all Herefordshire GP practices) hold shares in Taurus Healthcare. I do not vote on issues concerning Taurus. I occasionally write articles on health for the local newspaper, which is unpaid.
