I have been paid small amounts for articles related to the book. 'The Book About Getting Older (for people who don't want to talk about it) includes chapters on overdiagnosis and medication

I'm a member of Doctors for the NHS (ex NHSCA) which campaigns for the restoration of the NHS as a publicly funded, publicly provided and publicly accountable service. I fervently believe that we do many things to patients that are unnecessary and often harmful, and that we should do less, but do it better.
